Google has rolled out significant updates to Merchant Center policies for 2026, with particular implications for marine equipment sellers who list both new and used/refurbished inventory. Here’s what our dealer network needs to know.
Major Changes for 2026
Separate Feeds for Used Inventory
Starting March 2026, Google requires that used and refurbished products be submitted in separate feeds from new inventory. This allows Google to apply different quality standards and surface condition information more prominently in Shopping results.
**Action Required**: If you sell both new and used marine equipment, you’ll need to maintain two separate product feeds — one for new, one for used/refurbished.
Enhanced Condition Attributes
Google now requires more detailed condition descriptions for used equipment:
(free text field, max 500 characters)
(for engines and powered equipment)
(if applicable)
Shipping Transparency
For B2B sellers, Google now mandates transparent shipping costs or a clear “freight quote required” designation. Hidden or ambiguous shipping costs can result in account suspension.
Our Compliance Tools
We’ve updated the One Marine Engines feed generator to support all 2026 requirements:
New vs. used inventory separated automatically
Pre-built templates for common condition descriptions
`business_purpose=wholesale` and brand segmentation built-in
Pre-submission validation catches common errors before they reach Google
